Build photos Bicycle Caravan - Paracord, duct tape and a finished undercarriage

Wanted to use rope, ended up with this paracord string.

Together with these so called cord stoppers it works like a charm.
+
Tail lights, because safety is not an afterthought.
+
I made some small holes, just big enough to fit the cord. Using paracord the size of a big shoestring makes it easy to quickly assemble everything. Holes are punched out with one click, instead of carefully cutting it to size each and every time.

Found a sturdy way for the cord to keep everything in place. It also looks good, if you ask me.

New plates coming in. I also made some changes compared to the earlier plate that's on the frame right now.

Get outside, stay connected.

Old and new plates. While still busy cutting the first, in my mind I'm already folding the next plate.

Different materials coming together: a sliding tube meets a flexible flap that's held in place by some cord and a cord stopper.

It should not only work, but also please the eye. At least a little bit.

Happy that I didn't go for the rounded wheel arches. With rectangular ones I have more opportunities for shelf space.

Starting with the plate on the front part.

Attached the tape in such a way that the plate can fold.

Head plate attached to the frame. Finding the right size for the rope is not a problem, just cut of some piece and burn the end again.

Deciding where to make cut outs in the plate and where to attach the paracord.

Do the long tubes from the upper part of the caravan fit in diagonally?

This is why the floor plate needed to be foldable. I can enclose the back part this way. I did this for more protection and to control the weight, but I already dropped the idea.

With wooden plates this foldable plate might be a good idea, but the plastic plate I use right now is so light that it doesn't matter.

Made some - way too ugly - cut outs, so the connector beneath is accessible.

These pins form the foundation of the upper part of the caravan.
+
Little flap so the horizontal tube can slide down (and up). Upward position is for riding with the cart behind my bicycle, downward position is for camping and being able to enter the thing.
